Jean-Paul Sartre. It is easy to fall into a notion that if something does not go my way it is the circumstances and not I that are to blame. Sure, I get it, sometimes life plays tricks. However, taking full responsibility for my life means that I have adjust to what is and not live in a perpetual make believe fairy tale. As I visualize it now, after years of struggle, life becomes a road. You get that backpack and you walk. Hard. That is really the basis of it.
People that we meet are not our property. The kids we have do not owe us. The mind frame has to change within us so we can live a productive and happier life.
Where to start? With small things. For an artist or someone who wants to embrace change. Small steps are best to practice because dramatic changes may destroy us. Give yourself a chance!
What are the practical ways to practice art? Let’s say you have an idea. OK. Idea is a start. Now we have to put this idea to work. If you try to tackle this great idea all at once, you may fail. Better yet to treat this delicate seedling with a love of a parent. Be gentle and kind to it and give it time to grow. Every day commit a little time to it, ten minutes, and walk away. Let it mature. Let it breathe.
Soon, you may notice that you came back to your working table for more than ten minutes and in weeks or months you may notice that your idea became your routine. You changed your life.
Share it with people.
You teach, you learn, you reinforce your idea. Be proud of who you are.
Embrace that road.
Hey, let me know how it's going. What did you try to do?

I am a artist
My subconscious guides me
So
I do
what I do best
Painting over pieces of scrap paper in the effort
To
Save the world
But who is to save me
As I put shiny beads
In illusion of
Creative power
The world is waking up
And in a fist of defiance
It wants to shape itself
So
I too
Need to take full responsibility
For my own
