Art and the Power of not Caring

When it comes to creativity many of my own barriers are in my head. I know, and probably, so should you, that you are a far better artist than you believe or what you see on the canvas. With time and work you may see, as I do, that the technique and ideas are evolving. You may also notice, still frustrated as one can be, that you are more creative than you have ever hoped for.
One of the exercises that I practice to control my anxiety is to fully realize that no one really cares what I do and how I do it. As long as I am not a total menace people clap politely to my endeavors and give me appropriate number of likes or such. That is actually very liberating. When it comes to art, the only one I have to please is myself. It is time, from day to day, slowly and patiently, to learn to let go.
No one cares
Work, evaluate, adjust, change, combine, catalog, and journal
Most of all: move forward
Do it for your own sake
You are alive
Concentrate on the process and celebrate that you are still able to destroy, create, and hope.
Eva Garcia Saenz de Urturi created a character in her books who repeats silent mantra before each new case.
My Mantra?
“Here I stand”
